I have not posted to my blog in a while because I have been working on other things. I have been writing letters and emails to my family members. I also played in a softball tournament this weekend. I got to play three games. We lost the first game, won the second game and lost the third game. Then I got a trophy. Basketball season is starting up in about two months. I am excited for basketball season to start.

Hi Abby,
I am Sarah's Mom and Gran to The Dukes of Lawrence.

I remember trying to play softball. I could not catch the ball. I got hit right on my nose and my glasses were broken. Now I only watch sports. ;-)

I look forward to reading your blog posts.

Hi Abby:

What a nice looking trophy!

When I was on a bowling team a lot of years ago, we received a trophy at the end of the season also. But yours is much nicer than any that I have.

We didn't have our name on the trophy either.

You are very energetic. Playing softball, basketball and other sports is easy when you are young.

I don't have that kind of energy any more.

Can't wait to see some basketball pictures!

Are you going to do any other sport until basketball season starts?

Hi Abby,

Congratulations on your trophy for softball. How is school going? I know what you mean about not posting to your blog. School has been keeping me very busy. Your e-mail notice was a nice break from marking papers. I enjoyed reading about your softball games. You seem very excited about basketball season. Have a great evening and keep writing. Thank you for my little break.

Hey, Abby Min-Min--

You surely had a very successful softball season this year! And I'm pleased that you got so much satisfaction from playing. That tournament must have been an intense experience, with so many games close together.

Mara and her folks are visiting us for a few days. Mara has learned to crawl rapidly--it's sort of a modified crawl using her elbows and knees, but she gets where she wants to go, which usually is where she shouldn't be going--after people's shoes, papers on the floor that she enjoys crinkling and tearing, etc. I can remember your doing those things when you were about that age and we spent your first Christmas with you. I guess tomorrow we'll have to infant-proof our house!

Wendy will probably have some interesting Mara pictures to send to you soon.

Are you going to be doing any swimming before basketball season starts? I always enjoyed watching how well you swam. That's a good skill to have, even if you don't pursue swimming on a team.

Keep letting us know about all the interesting things you're doing.

Much love.

Hi Abby!

I was checking out your blog again and saw your trophy...congratulations! I remember getting my first trophy when I was on a swim team a very long time ago. I think I still have it!

Sounds like you're really busy with sports. Hopefully when Mara gets bigger you can teach Mara all about softball?
