End of the Year Softball Party

I went to an end-of-the-year softball party last night. It was awesome because it was a pool party at my teammate Kira's house and we got to swim around. Here are some pictures.

Two of my teammates and I climbed on the raft.

Using a water gun to squirt my teammates.

Laying on the raft. Ahhh, what a nice day!

Planning and jumping into the pool.

Taking a break from the pool to eat.

Our team signed a ball for everybody to keep as a reminder of the team.

We watched a video of pictures of the whole team playing softball.

Here's a picture of the cake.

Our team took a picture by the cake.

Update

I have not posted to my blog in a while because I have been working on other things. I have been writing letters and emails to my family members. I also played in a softball tournament this weekend. I got to play three games. We lost the first game, won the second game and lost the third game. Then I got a trophy. Basketball season is starting up in about two months. I am excited for basketball season to start.

Softball

Crack! The bat hits the flying ball. It is softball season. I'm on the Warriors team. Everybody is pretty good.

I have to wear a helmet with a chin strap and a face guard. I also have a glove so that I can field the ball with it. My glove is purple and black. I have to wear a uniform and it has my number on the back and front. My number is 8. I also have to wear long socks to protect my legs. I also have to wear a red shirt and my uniform over top of my red shirt. I have a red metal bat.

When you are fielding, before the ball is hit you have to be thinking about what you do if the ball is hit to you. Try to get the nearest out. If it’s hit your way, but it stops, go to the ball.

I am really good at pitching because I get the ball over the plate. After you pitch the ball you have be ready to field the ball. You have to wait for the umpire to be ready before you pitch the ball.

When you are hitting here are some tips. You should keep your eye on the ball so you see the ball come over the plate. Here is another tip: try and time the pitch so you can hit it right to the out field.

After you hit the ball, run as fast as you can. Remember to run through first base and home plate. Stop at second and third base.

When we are at the game we cheer on our teammates. Here is one of my team cheers: There was a little froggy. He sat upon log. He rooted for the other team and had no sense at all. He fell into the water and bumped his little head and when he came back up again this is what he said: Go, go, go, go, you mighty Warriors. Win, win, win, win, you mighty Warriors. Fight, fight, fight, fight, you mighty Warriors. Go, fight, win and do it all again.

Always try as hard as you can and have fun!

Two New Things

Today I did two things for the first time. I got a home run in my softball game and I made lasagna for dinner.

Softball: June 13, 2009

This was my second softball game of the year (but the first time my parents remembered the camera and camcorder - ed.) and the first time I've pitched. Here are some pictures and a movie.

Softball and Lochen

Tonight I had a softball game. My last year’s teacher named Ms. Hanni came to my softball game. Ms. Hanni brought her baby named Lochen and also brought her husband named John. Every time I batted I hit the ball out into the outfield. One time I got a double. When I got to play catcher I got an out by getting the ball and touching home plate.

After the game Ms. Hanni, John and Lochen came over to our house to have a snack and so that I could play with Lochen. I also showed Ms. Hanni and John my robot I made out of a printer and a poster of a rocket landing on Mars that I got for being good at Camp Invention. I made the robot at Camp Invention, too. Lochen played with my gears, my zoo animals, and my drum.

July 29, 2007

My softball season just ended yesterday and I got my trophy. I’ve got two trophies from softball and two trophies from basketball because I’ve played two years of basketball and one year of t-ball and one year of softball. Here is a movie of me playing softball earlier in the year.

July 12, 2007

I woke up at 7:46 this morning. That was really cool because I didn’t know I was going to sleep that late. We’re going heely-ing at the mall today. My Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt are coming to see my softball practice tonight. That’s all I want to say today. I might add more, but not right now. Okay, bye for now!

[Editor's note: these are pictures from Abby's game a week ago.]
