Babysitting Merrick

I babysat Merrick yesterday. I was at the rec center and came home and Merrick greeted me at the door. Merrick learned to walk before he learned to crawl. He can do both now. He liked the toy animals I have. His favorite ones were the lion and the giraffe. He mostly drinks out of a sippy cup not a bottle anymore. He drinks out of a bottle at night. Merrick liked playing my drum. He also liked playing my musical instruments. When Merrick looked at me he said "mama". I think my long hair reminded him of his mom. Here are some pictures.

Merrick's First Birthday Party

I went to Merrick's first birthday party yesterday. It was a lot of fun. He liked his cake a lot. Camryn and I had to open Merrick's presents because Merrick was too little. Camryn is my friend. Here are some pictures.

Babysitting Again

Last Saturday night I got to babysit Merrick again at my house. He was starting to catch a cold.

Phew! Watching a baby is hard work. I went to see Merrick and Ms. MaKayla on Monday morning at their house. As soon we got there we waited for Merrick to wake to get up from his nap. After Merrick woke up he played with a toddler table. I sat behind Merrick so he did not tip the table on him self. Merrick also played with stacking bowls. Photo time! Ms. MaKayla put Merrick's skeleton pajamas on him and I put on my skeleton costume. His real costume for Halloween is a giraffe. Lunch time for Merrick - he ate baby cereal and he went ahhhh when Ms. MaKayla set the green beans down for a minute. Merrick thought he wasn't going to get the green beans but he did. It was an awesome day.

Babysitting is awesome! Last Friday night I got to babysit Merrick. Merrick is Ms. MaKayla’s son. Ms. MaKayla worked with my mom. Ms. MaKayla has a husband named Philip. We got to babysit Merrick so Ms. MaKayla and Philip could go out to dinner. They brought him over to my house.

What can Merrick do? He can sit up by himself. Merrick can sit up and play with toys. Merrick has a lot of toys. Some that he likes are a stuffed animal that is a frog and a box that has blocks in it. When Merrick sees that the box is full he tips it over.

Merrick likes playing peek-a-boo. He will put his face on his blanket and then Merrick will lift his head. I say, “Where is Merrick?” Then I say, “There he is” when he pops his head up. He also liked listening to me play the guitar.

I really liked babysitting Merrick. I can’t wait until we do it again.

Having Fun This Summer

This summer I have been doing a lot of fun things. My Grandma and Grandpa were here for four weeks and they did most of the things with us.

We went to the zoo with Sabrina, Christy, Grandma, Grandpa and my mom. I fed the lorikeets. We had a cup and it had nectar in it and we fed it to the birds. When one was getting a drink, another one wanted to get a drink and he accidentally bit me.




We also went to the farm. At the farm there was a calf and two piglets. We also saw two cats in the farm house.


We went to the Bucksnort Saloon for lunch and on the way home we saw a beaver lodge.



I also played with my friend Sabrina at her house on July 4th. We first played in our swimming suits outside and we blew up water balloons and played catch. Then we played brother and sister and then we ate some steak for dinner. After dinner we watched High School Musical 3 until we got to see the fireworks.




One day Merrick and his mom came over to play. His mom worked with my mom at school. Here are some pictures of him sleeping and and laying on his stomach.




My friends are Dane, Sydney, Austin, Travis, Ian and Skylar. They live in my neighborhood. We play baseball, basketball, soccer, hide and go seek tag, and Wii. I play with them every day.




We also went to the Wildlife Experience and we saw Globeology. It is where you see places from all around the world. One night we went to Trail Dust Steakhouse for dinner and I went down the big slide that they have.
