Softball July 2008

My Grandma and Grandpa S. came out to see me for two weeks and they came to watch my softball games. Here is a movie of two of my games.

Camping

I went camping with my Mom and Dad. We went to Golden Gate Canyon State Park. I got to feed the fish at the Visitor’s Center by throwing the food in the water. Then we went on a hike. It was kind of tough because there were so many big hills, but everybody made it and they made it all the way back.







And then we setup our tent and I helped set it up. I went into the tent and got to organize the sleeping bags and sleeping pads.












We had dinner and then started on a hike after dinner but we couldn’t make it because it was too long to walk so we came back. We had a campfire, told campfire stories, and roasted marshmallows. I got to help gather the kindling. Later I gathered more kindling and I got to put them in the fire. I fell asleep in four seconds when we went to bed in the tent.








The next morning we packed up our tent and camping stuff, then we drove to the hike instead of trying to walk to it, and we went on the hike. After the hike we drove home.

July 4th

Yesterday I went to the fireworks with a friend. Her name is Sabrina. We went on this thing that was called a bungee jump or something. It was really, really cool. I felt a little nervous on the first one because I wasn’t really used to it, but by the end it was really fun. It’s a trampoline and then you have a harness on and ropes on. They they just bounce you and you go really high up.


The fireworks had to stop because there was a small fire. I liked them before the fire started and they had to call it a night.






Sabrina’s Mom and Dad, my Mom and Dad, and Sabrina and I let their butterflies go. They ordered some caterpillars that then changed into cocoons and then they put them into a tent as they grew into butterflies. When we let them go, I had to go in the tent because one butterfly didn’t want to come out, so I crawled in there and I got the butterfly out.

Deer in our Backyard

We just saw a deer in our backyard. He was just sitting in the shade under our trees by our house. My neighbor’s mom called us and she said, “There is a deer in your backyard!” We would have never seen it if she hadn’t called us. Here are some pictures of him. I think he’s a male deer because he has antlers, not just ears, but antlers behind his ears. Now here are some pictures. I took most of the pictures and my Dad took some, too.
